For-Profit Practices that Work in a Non-Profit World (United Church of Canada)

The buzz word is ‘social enterprise’ and the thought that a successful non-profit organization should be thinking of ways to become financial viable and stable. The definition of a social enterprise is that it provide social good and benefit, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be a non-profit. It could be for profit. With this shift in mind, providing social benefit doesn’t mean that we should be ignoring revenue.

Presented by Carla Langhorst, this video speaks about finding concrete ways for an organization to “Rev Up”.

The top concepts that are covered are:

  • Current trends for non-profits
  • Top challenges faced today
  • The mindset & paradigm shift
  • Business models
  • Pricing models
  • End result is to have a paradigm shift in how we look at our organization.
