Communications Coordinators, Communications Directors, and Ministers of Communications are responsible for developing a comprehensive communication plan, in conjunction with staff, to promote the ministries of the church. They’re duties include the design, editing and publication of magazines, newsletters, brochures and bulletins as well as business publications such as the annual report, church directory and handbooks. They research, write and edit information included in print and electronic publications. They may direct or maintain the church website. They produce and coordinate communications work sent to outside vendors including participation in decisions regarding the selection of vendors. They manage advertising and public relations support and are responsible for creating all print communications for the church as well as maintaining, updating and developing the website and other social communication outlets.
